What’s Really Happening: 2nd Amendment

March 30, 2010

I heard a story this morning about a black man, a woman, a gay man, and a wise Latino woman and it got me wondering how the wise Latino woman would be ruling with her associates on the Chicago Gun Case. As I searched for information that did not come I found an article at the NRA-ILA that made me feel a little better.

It told of SB-2099. You know, the old bill that died in committee nearly a decade ago. But at the end was a link to another story that did even more for me. It dispelled several BS stories that I have been hearing. I knew they were BS I just didn’t have the ammo to prove it. Well, here it is.

But, in the course of reading these stories I thought about why I do not belong to the NRA and I can’t think of one good reason. I used to belong and I let it lapse and I haven’t re-upped. These articles made me realize just how much the NRA actually does for me and as soon as I finish here I will be re-upping. As a matter of fact here is the link to join.

I remember the one thing that I wish I had done so many years ago when I belonged and I will be doing that this time as they have made it easier than ever. I will become a lifetime member. Then it was $200.00, now it’s $1,000.00 but they have the Easy Pay Life (EPL) where they bill you quarterly $25.00 until the $1,000.00 is paid in full. No interest. Pretty cool I thought. Quite a deal for an outfit that does as much as the NRA does for our 2nd Amendment right, at least that’s what I thought after reading these articles.

Anyway that’s where I’m headed right now. Until next time, screw environmentalists.

2nd Amendment Still Under Assault

March 17, 2010

The State of Maine gave it a shot. They have legislation, LD1817, on the table that would allow law enforcement to confiscate firearms in domestic violence cases even if there was not even the threat of using the firearm.

A while ago I told you about an article in the American Thinker that mentioned a treaty that Chairman Zero may sign. It’s called the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). The National Rifle Association-Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) has an article on that right now that makes me feel much better. According to the NRA-ILA there isn’t even a draft yet and work will continue on it until 2012 when we can ditch Chairman Zero.

Actually it seems like things are going quite well on this front. the guns confiscated in New Orleans can be retrieved by following the instructions at this link. And we can once again carry in National Parks. All in all not too bad.

While this is all good news let’s not forget that H.R.45, H.R.257 and S.1317 are still lingering out there. At any rate let’s sit back and wait for the Supreme Court decision on the Chicago Gun case. And, as always, screw environmentalists.

There’s a lot of talk about Scot Brown being a disappointment. I don’t know how you feel but personally I expected a lot more. Of course I based my thinking on the thought that anyone who drives an old truck must be all good. I suppose I should have been considering the obvious, he’s a Republican from Massachusetts.

I guess he’s better than a Kennedy but here’s the thing. The Founding Fathers envisioned a congress where the average guy would leave his productive job and go “serve” in the congress and then go back home to his productive job. I read where the average salary in America today is $40,000.00. Who can afford to get elected on that kind of money? I will venture to say that we haven’t had an “average guy” in congress for many moons.

The type of jackal that runs for office today is normally backed by many a pocket-book all looking to get fatter, not skinnier. By the time an “average guy” gets in office he owes so many favors that he feels obligated to honor that he will inevitably produce votes like Mr. Brown’s “jobs bill” vote. He should be the poster boy for campaign finance reform.

Here’s a quick overview of my plan for campaign finance reform. Nobody spends more than $100,000.00. NOBODY! Not the Pres, nobody. No donation can exceed $100.00. This means all donations, corporate, personal, organization. The NRA can give you no more than $100.00. The SEIU can give you no more than $100.00. GM, GE, Mobil, McDonald’s, Fred Farkel, the girl up the street, the homeless guy on the corner, all no more than $100.00. If you can’t find 1,000 donations maybe you shouldn’t be running. All monies must be donated, none of your own.

Hey just a quick shot from the hip. Maybe one of you “average guys” out there can draft something up and introduce it. Probably not because congress has become a wealth building endeavor hasn’t it? That’s right, they’re rich when they go in and they’re even wealthier when they come out. Plus they usually have brokered a six figure income consulting some super-corporation after retirement. A retirement funded by the American people. What a scam. Oh well, until next time, screw environmentalists.

ACLU For Conservatives

November 2, 2009

I’m sure I caught you wondering why the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) would possibly be for conservatives, well they’re not. Probably never will be. Yeah, if you go to work, pay your taxes and mow your lawn they want you to die quickly. But if you’re any kind of twisted nutjob they are here for you to turn your sick desires into mainstream reality.

No what I meant by that title is that we need a group like the ACLU only for conservatives. As I watch the American way of life quickly head south that thought occurred to me. We need a group like the ACLU. I don’t know if there is such a group out there but I would gladly donate to it as I’m sure many of you would.

You see, as a conservative you encounter many circumstances during the course of your life where you are just overwhelmed by evil. They seem to have all the money and resources in the world to wear you down and make you allow the deviated things in life to be practiced right out in the open. Sometimes you have the wherewithal to fight it and win but more times than not you are out gunned and out manned.

I realise that there are some groups out there who stand up for certain demographics or a single right such as the National Rifle Association (NRA)or the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC, a group very much like AARP only for conservatives). But the ACLU is a sort of catchall when it comes to litigation in defending or aiding the liberals in winning in their quest for communism.

I’m not saying I’m going to start such a group and I’m not suggesting that you do. All I’m doing right now is throwing it out there to see how people react. If you know of such an organization let me know, let everyone know, because this is something we desperately need right now.
