Spare The Rod

January 4, 2010

Here it is from Proverbs, chapter 23, verses 13 & 14. 13) Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 14) Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

Funny. I read the whole chapter just to be sure, but I didn’t see anything about his self-esteem. It almost seems like God is more concerned about the child’s soul going to hell than he is about his self-esteem. Oddly enough I beat my kids and they don’t seem to have any self-esteem problems whatsoever. In fact they seem to think quite highly of themselves. How can this be?

I remember once being called to one of my kids school for a conference and they said my kid had bruses on it’s butt and asked me why. I told them probably because I gave them whooping. Well they came unglued and threatened to get all kinds of agencies involved. I told them to put them in foster care for a while and see how that works out for them and got up and walked out. I never heard from them again.

What we have now is a whole generation of people coming of age with giant egos and no discipline (Obama). The children of free love hippies. Jeremiah Wright may have been right when he said our chickens are coming home to roost. He just didn’t know which chickens.

I know I have run into some of these soccer moms and yuppie types that made me think of the Eagles song “Get Over It” when they say, “I’d like to find your inner child and kick its little ass. GET OVER IT!”

As I think about the libs trying to remove God from every aspect of public life I keep thinking of “Meathead” Rob Reiner in “All In The Family”. The way he spewed all that liberal crap and tried to make Archie out to be the bad guy. The harder they worked, even Carrol O’Connor who played Archie, the more popular he became. So much so that he even had a cheesy sit-com spin-off that lasted about half as long as the original.

This is another thing that has been bothering me, separation of Church and state. As I peruse my pocket edition of the Constitution I am not seeing this anywhere. I was raised, here in America, to believe in separation of Church and state. But apparently that was not the intention of the founders. So much so that they put a plaque on the top of the Washington Monument that says “Praise God”. Then they made a law that no building could ever be built in DC that is taller than the monument. What do you think about that?

Let me tell you what I think. I’m sick and tired of every nutjob with some kind of off the wall idea turning it into a religion and seeking protection under our Constitution and then turning around and trying to destroy that Constitution. Can you say “black liberation theology” or Jeremiah Wright? But he’s not alone in his quest, he has plenty of allys in the form of radical muslims. This is a modern day crusade, my friends, and we are elected to be crusaders. Are you up to the task? Before you answer you might want to google the crusades and see what you’re in for and if you are up to it.

From an ATF open letter to all Tennessee federal firearms licensees:

“The passage of the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act, H.B. 1796, 106th Leg. (Tenn. 2009) 1796 (“Act”), effective June 19, 2009, has generated questions from industry members as to how this State law may affect them while engaged in a firearms business activity. The Act purports to exempt personal firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition manufactured in the State, and which remain in the State, from most Federal firearms laws and regulations. However, because the Act conflicts with Federal firearms laws and regulations, Federal law supersedes the Act, and all provisions of the Gun Control Act and the National Firearms Act, and their corresponding regulations, continue to apply.”

Montana federal firearms licensees also received a similar letter. I don’t recall “THE CONSTITUTION” giving these “schoolyard wimps” this authority so I’ll suppose this is a feeble attempt at coercement. I really enjoy consulting my pocket copy of the Constitution then shredding letters from the feds. Who are they to tell me what I can and cannot do in regard to this? They work for me, remember. This ATF is one that is really out of control and chairman zero needs to reign them in before they get seriously hurt. To paraphrase the immortal words of the reverend Jeremiah Wright, “God damn the ATF!”
