The Rules

June 30, 2010

Everybody keeps saying Obama’s oil spill is BP’s fault so they should clean it up alone. I’m not so sure that’s right and proper. You see, the gubmint has been telling private businesses how they can and can’t run their business for decades. Once the gubmint starts telling private business people how they can and can’t do business they should be just as responsible.

Poppycock you say? Well let’s look at it this way, do you think a company like BP would be drilling for oil nearly a mile under the ocean if they didn’t have to? This same oil can be accessed from much more convenient locations. I think I even heard that it could be accessed from dry land. Gee, that sure would be easier to fix now wouldn’t it?

Square biz, water weighs about 2.4 pounds for every foot of height. It doesn’t mater how vast the area is, only the depth matters. At 5,000 feet we’re looking at about twelve thousand pounds of pressure. That is what’s making this so difficult. What kind of hydraulic hoses do you need to operate at that depth? How do you seal an electric motor for that kind of pressure? Can any human ever be expected to withstand this kind of pressure?

As well as the gubmint I think we should have a healthy compliment of environmentalists out there. Until next time, screw them.

Robot Crash

June 23, 2010

Did I not say it was like the Keystone Cops out there? They crashed a robot into the pipe and knocked the cap off? Is that right? Is it just me or does that sound incredibly stupid? So I’m listening to Limbaugh today and he says, as soon as Obama lifted his boot off the neck of BP they screwed up. He took his laser like focus away from his oil spill for one moment and it all went bad. He’s even got me believing we need cap-and-trade now.

What really went on in that meeting the other day? Why did the BP guy go AWOL? Why are people abandoning Dear Leader this way? Could it be that they think some things might get out that may be criminal? Global criminal? Something like say creating a giant environmental catastrophe to forward your socialist agenda?

How is it so much more of a stretch to think that Chairman Zero would do this to pass cap-and-trade than it was to think Curious George would go along with 911 to pass homeland security? It’s all designed to take your God-given rights. We’re all to stupid for our own good anyway, right? We shouldn’t have guns or cars or safety pins. Heck, those lawn mowers are dangerous as can be too.

Maybe we weren’t meant to live like this. Maybe we should all be in dung huts raising rice by hand and crapping in five gallon buckets. At any rate we should apparently not be running robots across the ocean floor a mile down. Until next time, screw environmentalists.

Weird Thoughts

June 14, 2010

Just a couple of odd things that crossed my twisted mind. The first being that after my dis on soccer on Thursday and my reference to Rush hurrying to my little blog for show prep you can imagine my surprise when Mark Belling opened the show Friday talking about that very thing. Now I never thought they actually went to my blog even by accident but it sure freaked me out when he starts saying the very things I said. He dissed soccer.

That wasn’t enough to get me to write and let you know about it but then Beck starts in on the same thing for a half an hour or so and kept it as a theme through the whole show. Either these guys are going to my little blog for show prep or I’ve got my finger on the pulse of America. Either way it’s freaky.

The other thing that’s been bothering me is this oil spill thing. I implied to it the other day but I’m really beginning to think that this Obama guy has more to do with it than is suspected. First there’s the campaign contribution, $700,000.00. Then there is the Keystone Cop like reaction from his administration. Then we find out that BP has invested in the cap-and-trade scam. Is this all just dumb luck or are there more sinister motives behind all this. They’re going to tax you to death if you let them. You better look into it.

Can we finally start calling this Obama’s oil spill? Feel free to use that. Until next time, screw environmentalists.

A Good Crisis

June 3, 2010

Chairman Zero has taken charge of the oil leak, is that true? I heard something like that the other day. How are these things normally handled? Is this the procedure? I’m not sure. At any rate I have a few questions about this whole thing. Somebody once said not to let a good crisis go to waste. Who was that? Wasn’t it somebody in Obama’s administration? Bill Ayers? Saul Alinsky? I’m just full of questions today.

Do you think Zero might use this crisis to pass some draconian laws? See what this guy thinks here. The thing that’s kind of strange to me is that nothing seems to have been accomplished in all this time. Do you think that BP is dragging their feet? Why would they do that? Could it have something to do with the 700 large they gave to Zero’s campaign? Are Obama and BP in bed together to get some serious cap-and-trade passed? Why would BP do that?

How exactly is George Bush responsible for this spill again? How much did BP give to his campaign? Do you feel like you’re watching one of those old episodes of “Soap”? Well you’re not because after today’s episode you will be even more bewildered than before. I know I am. Can’t we at least let Bobby Jindal build some islands? I guess we’re going to need some in Pensacola before tomorrow. You know, the thought has crossed my mind that if Bush and Cheney were able to scale the World Trade Center Zero might be able to get BP to drag this on to suit his purpose. I don’t know, just thinking out loud here. Until next time, screw environmentalists.

Oil Spill

May 5, 2010

On April 20, 2010 the MODU Deepwater Horizon exploded and caught fire. On April 22, 2010 there was a second explosion and the rig sank. Of 126 Crew members 115 have been saved. On April 23, 2010 the search for survivors was suspended. My condolences to the families of the other 11. I do not deal well with death so I will move on to my point.

On April 24, 2010 it was estimated by the Coast Guard and company officials that 1,000 barrels of oil is escaping each day. A standard oil barrel is 42 US gallons. That’s an estimate of 42,000 gallons a day. Worst case scenario we are looking at 700,000 gallons to date. A bell is in transit to facilitate containment of the well and stop the leak. Worst case let’s estimate 1,000,000 gallons. This doesn’t even rate on the scale of spills. The Exxon Valdez was over ten times worse than this and is only at number 34 on the list. Check here for the worst spills.

As you can see in 1980 Mexico had an accident which spewed 30,000 gallons a day for a year. Do you remember hearing about that? I don’t either. Top of the list is the work of Saddam Hussein (not Obama) who dumped 520,000,000 gallons resulting in an oil slick four inches thick covering 4,000 square miles. (Figure centimeters and kilometers for yourself.) A Greek tanker dumped 90,000,000 in 1979 near Trinidad and Tobago.

I can go on and on but read it for yourself. My point here is that the ocean seems to handle this sort of thing in stride. A scientist, Dr. Roy Spencer, has estimated that the Gulf itself leaks 5,000 gallons a day. I think we’re seeing another case of “let no crisis go to waste” (Eric Holder). Remember, cap-and-trade lurking in the wings, once again the American Clean Air and Security Act, already passed the House so contact your Senator. Until next time, screw environmentalists.
