Constitution Pt. 31

Amendment VII. In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

That’s the Seventh Amendment. Your right to a trial by jury when the value exceeds twenty dollars. Try as I might I have not found where this amount has been raised. I was sure it has but I can’t find it anywhere. Also we see a sort of double jeopardy here as well in the re-examined part. The Founders were big on protecting ones property and belongings.

By golly, so far I don’t think Chairman Zero has run over this Amendment. But give him time, he’s only had a year and a half. Heck, it’s still Bush’s fault. Until next time, screw environmentalists.
