Common Bond

September 18, 2009

The last few days I have run a series of posts about names, or tags that we put on people. Have you noticed a common bond or connection there? Racist. Fascist. Sexist. They all have ist on the end. They all describe an action or belief system. But the common bond they have for me is that I have been called all these things at one time or another. I’m not proud. Or ashamed. I’m human.

Chairman Zero came out and said that he doesn’t feel that the criticism of him is racially motivated. He’s right. It’s not that we hate him for anything he is. I don’t hate him, I don’t even know him. I’m just dissatisfied with his performance in his current (and past) positions. The criticism of him that I’ve heard is focussed on socialistic policies that he would like to enact. I have stated my position on this many times but perhaps candidly so here it is. I am not against the gubmint getting in the health care business because they will screw it all up, I’m against it because the gubmint should not be in ANY business for ANY reason. It’s not their function to be in business.

But back to the point. It seems that every time one political party gets the lead over another they want to call the others all these names when their policies are criticised. They try to distract the people from the issue with the ultimate evil of racism. This is especially a liberal tactic. I for one, have grown extremely tired of it. I have never been or owned a slave. None of my tracable ancestors have been or owned a slave. Yet if I disagree with Chairman Zero I must be a racist according to this tactic? NO!

Here’s what I know. People like Jesse Jackson, David Duke and Al Sharpton make their living playing off racism and organizations like acorn, the kkk and the arien nation are part and parcel of the whole racism business. The well meaning but uninformed enable them by not taking the time to be informed and blindly following the ill advice given by their “leaders”. Can anyone tell me why the gubmint should fund an organization like acorn in the first place? Are they funding these other “fine organizations” and we don’t know about it? I think they’ve got way too much of our money.

How about a sexist? Do you know where that comes from? Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary says it dates to 1968 and the etymology is “sex + ism (as in racism)”. The definitions are; “1 : prejudice or discrimination based on sex; especially : discrimination against women”, and  “2 : behavior, conditions, or attitudes that foster stereotypes of social roles based on sex”. That part, “especially : discrimination against women”, does that mean women can’t be sexist. I know a woman who doesn’t like doctors that are not men. She just feels that they do not have to support their family so they are not as commited. Is that sexist? You bet it is.

When I was young I opened doors for women. I also opened doors for anybody that was entering a building at the same time as I was. I have walked through doors opened by women for me as we both entered a building. I think it’s just kind of a courtesy to hold the door. And if you’re not in a hurry you let them through first, but if you’re in a hurry you hold it behind you and move on about your business. It’s a case by case basis I guess, and people can usually tell if you’re in a hurry or not and act accordingly. One day I was not in a hurry and I opened the door for this woman to go through in front of me and she kicked my hand. Who was sexist in that situation?

Why didn’y Hillary get the nomination? Do you think that was sexism on the part of the Democrats? Or did they not want to be racist? Or, was Chairman Zero simply the best they had to offer?

Have you heard the term fascism thrown around? If you’re alive I’m guessing you have. Do you know what it means? If you heard it in the seventies you probably think it has something to do with something Nixonesk (I just made that word up so I guessed at how to spell it, spell check had no suggestions). If you heard it in the eighties you probably think it has something to do with Reagan’s trickle down economics. If you heard it in the nineties you probably think it has something to do with Clinton’s coverups. And if you heard it in the new millenium you probably believe it has something to do with Bush’s war for oil.

The funny thing is you are all pretty close to right. Webster’s defines it as “one party system of government”. Almost all of these Presidents enjoyed a period when their party was in complete control. But, that’s where the similarity ends. The true meaning goes to administrations like Hitler, Mao, Mussolini and Stalin. It wasn’t that their party was in charge, they eliminated the opposition. Killed them. This is the true meaning of fascism. How can you compare that to Bush, Clinton, Reagan or Nixon? Sure, it appeared that some of these Presidents had some evil things going on, but Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini and Mao killed millions in plain sight of the people, and just because they held different views that they did. That’s scary stuff.

The name calling is going pretty heavy right now. Sure, Obama’s doing things that nobody likes but we will survive. The question is, in what form? I mean, how much more socialist can we get before we stop him? 2010 should be foremost in everyone’s mind. These fossils that have been enjoying a free ride at taxpayer expense for decades need to be ousted, but in the mean time they need to be kept on a tight leash. I e-mail my reps daily if necessary. I have been part of the “shut the website down” crowd. Have you?

September 15, 2009

So, I hear a little of the Glenn Beck show this morning and he’s talking about Kanye West and how he might be a racist. I’m thinking, “Who?” Later I hear a few minutes of the Rush Limbaugh show and he is saying that Obama is racist for calling West a jackass. It occurs to me, what do people think a racist is? I think there are a lot of misconceptions out there about what constitutes a racist.

First this notion that Limbaugh was illustrating, that only white people can be racist, is wrong. Also the idea that West is a racist may also be wrong. I have never heard of the guy and until today I have never even heard him speak, but the audio that I heard sounded like a guy who was, as he stated, drunk, and truly thought that his candidate was the better choice. I don’t think he was operating under the assumption that one race was superior to another only that one entertainer was superior to another. I could be wrong, as I said, I don’t know anything of the guy.

According to Webster’s, racism is “a thought or belief that one race is better than another race”. This is the true and honest skinny on this. Anybody can be a racist. I believe that Jesse Jackson is extremely racist, I believe that he has based his livelyhood on promoting racism. I believe that everyone is somewhat racist. Everybody has that deep dark thought now and then and that is the key. Thought. If you had the thought, no matter how fleeting you are racist. The idea is to get past it and get over it. We all live together here and getting over it is key. How do you see this?

Our Gold

September 14, 2009

Since Tricky Dick, a man who I once admired, took us off the gold standard, I’ve been wondering, do we have any gold in Fort Knox anymore? Has anyone checked? Has anyone authenticated it? I’ve heard rumblings that it’s being shipped out of Fort Knox to the International Monetary Fund. Is this fledgling country being stripped of it’s wealth by the Europowers? Does it really matter?

Why would I ask such a thing you say. Well, first off, there has not been enough gold mined to support just the U.S. currency floating around. not to mention the rest of the world. Why is gold worth so much? It’s nearly useless for anything but looking at and light electrical circuits. We need to back our currency with American wealth. What I mean is we need to produce quality merchandise for the entire world as we have in the past. Nobody produces anything in this country anymore.

Remember when “Made in the U. S.A.” meant something besides it’ll probably break shortly after you pay for it? When did our standard become engineering it to last just long enough to get off warranty. I’m not kidding here, I’ve been there. They call it overengineering if you design something to last. It’s all about the Benjamins and that’s exactly what they are devaluing when they do this. It’s so bad that I’ve heard talk of the American dollar not being the standard of the world anymore. Is this what you want? This is what so many people are working towards. So, the next time you line up at the Toyota dealership know that you ARE part of the problem.

This is an open letter to all the old hippies and libs out there, especially those who are living comfortably. I’m way down at the end of the baby boomer generation and finding it difficult to succeed in your wake. Not because you have done so exceedingly well but because every time I find something to do you remove it from the playing field. I’m sick and tired of starting a new endevor only to have you outlaw it in the name of polar bears or some other off the wall crap.

I couldn’t care less if you feel guilty because you made a comfortable living working for XYZ Corporation while some schmuck with no ambition starved in the street. I’m trying to keep my family from starving in the street. The same free enterprise system that you used to suceed you have systematically taken from me. I’m not asking you to give me anything. I’m asking, no, I’m telling you, get out of my way. As you age, I’m still young. And I’m strong from working all my life. I, and many others like me are coming. We are coming to take what is rightfully ours. Get in the way and we will mow you down. We no longer hear your rhetoric. We no longer believe your BS.

Does any of this sound familiar to you? It should because it’s the same thing you were telling Nixon in the sixties and seventies. That’s right. You have now become what you hated so much then. And our contempt for you is just as vehement as yours was for them. You’re selfish and self centered and we know global warming is a lie.

More On Babies

September 12, 2009

Here we go again. This is the last time I want to say this but I will continue until this BS stops. We breath in the air and we breath out the carbon dioxide. The plants breath in the carbon dioxide and breath out the air. It works really neato. No queer, devil worshipping scientists required, OK. Now that we’ve had our daily dose of truth and basic science 101 from third grade what do the libs have to say?

From the Telegraph .com .uk, “Contraception Cheapest Way to Combat Climate Change”. Just a headline but what a pantload. They just keep hammering away at this crap and I’m going to keep hammering back. First off, it will have zero, zip, nada effect on climate change. Not one little bit, it’s pure bovine feces. I don’t have any complaints about reducing the population. It’s all good, but it won’t do a single thing to alter climate change. If you want less snarling brats sitting behind you in restaurants just say so. Yes, please.

Now, the cheapest way to “combat” climate change is to do absolutely nothing. Just who in the heck do these people think they are? A nuclear disaster of epic proportions may cause a nuclear winter, but nobody really knows for sure. It’s all speculation, best guess, voodoo. What ever these people do will have little, if any, effect on the climate. The environment, that’s a different story for another day.

The questions are starting to be asked. How many czars does he have? Who do they answer to? Who is paying them?

Well, David Gergen, a CNN contributor and former aide to past presidents said, “Now with President Obama, we have a number of people who answer to the president but not to Congress. When the Congress looks at it and sees over 30 people with czar titles, it naturally begins to worry that a lot of authority has been taken away and stripped of the Cabinet.” So apparently he has over thirty czars, I have heard 32-37 thrown around. You just can’t find an accurate count anywhere and it seems to change daily.

Dana Perino, a White House spokeswoman for the Bush administration, told Fox News that, “Presidents like to appoint czars because it can be hard to get political appointees confirmed by an increasingly partisan Congress. They have skirted around that process so there is no accountability for the czars. Nobody has to go up and testify in front of Congress. They don’t have to go through the process.” So they answer only to the President would be the answer I derive to our second question.

As for the last question you already know the answer, don’t you? It’s the same poor schmucks who are paying for the thirty handmaidens for Michelle. You and I, my friend. You and I. Chairman Zero is not the first President to have czars (their officail title is advisor) they have been around for decades in both parties. I think the real question here is are they Constitutional and legal? If so let’s move on and concentrate on something else.

As we descend into communism is the gubmint deliberately allowing our infrastructure to deteriorate? It sure seems that way doesn’t it? It appears that the more we pay in taxes the less we see in returns. Where do you think it goes? I have a theory. I call it the Punishment Theory. Here’s how it works and the higher a person moves in the gubmint the more they subscribe to it.

You should give all your money to the gubmint and in return they will dole out an equal amount of gruel and grog to every individual in the country except,  of course, themselves. Now, as you resist this plan they punish you for resisting. If you won’t give that extra two mills they will punish you by cutting thirty police officers when in reality if they cut two administrators (read that bureaucrats) they could keep all the police officers and probably add six more.

Now we need six mills for transportation (roads). You vote it down and they punish you. They take the money they did have for transportation and buy helecoptors and jets to drag their filthy butts around and let the roads go until next election. Does this sound like what might be happening because it sure makes sence to me. Why does the gubmint need so many middle managers (bureaucrats)? Every time I have worked for a gubmint agency I was one of one or two workers with three to ten bosses. And God forbid you should cut one of them out of the loop. They came unglued and it took a full half day meeting to pacify them.

September 9, 2009

I just got back from Lowe’s Home Builders Depot Square Bargain Warehouse Store. All I needed was three inches of 5/8″ hose. Finding it was an adventure. After twenty minutes I found a guy who told me where it was but he couldn’t get it for me (too dumb, to dangerous, I don’t know). I think he worked there because he said he would call somebody that could get it for me.

Ten minutes later a guy about my age was walking by with his son and I said to him that his son was too young but that he and I remember when a hardware store was a real store. As we talked for a moment they told me that they had just had a piece of hose cut earlier and it took forever for the guy to get there and then he acted like it was a real imposition to have him cut the hose. They told me to look for a guy talking on the phone and walking around at the other end of the building.

As I started out to search for the guy, about half way down I came accross a woman pushing a huge cart, not one of the ones for customers so I asked her about the hose. She said sure, she would be glad to cut me a piece. As we walked over I told her of my meeting with the other customers and she was not happy. I think she might have been the manager or something. I think I should clarify that this was not during peak hours, in fact the only other customers I saw in the place were the ones I talked to and a few up front lined up in the one open checkout line.

Now this place isn’t going broke, in the morning it’s packed with contractors. Nights and weekends it’s packed with homeowners. And I understand they pay an above average wage so you would think that in these times they could find enough people that give a rats wazzoo to staff it. I don’t know who’s at fault here but this is not the first time I have heard a story like this repeated about one of these joints and I just believe it’s not a symptom but a cause of cultural decay.

As I walked to the checkout, forty minutes after entering the place for a single piece of hose, I saw a guy walking around talking on a phone. When I got to the checkout my new friends had just reached  the front of the line and there was some kind of problem with the way the guy had marked their hose or something so the woman in the returns booth took me. I guess I was lucky because they were still their when I left.
